The women try to unite and rescue each other, but there are a lot of incredible problems to deal with. The first is the presence of the MILLIONS of dead bodies: what they should do with the deceased males? In Rome, they hurl the corpses into the ancient catacombs; in Milan, the bodies are burned in gigantic pyres. In Venice, the situation adopted is tragic: the dead men are stripped naked and hurled into the canal. The decomposing carcasses turn the canal into an infectious, stinky marsh. The once beautiful and solar city is now macabre, dark, with human remains floating in its canal and populated almost exclusively by gigantic rats.
